Meralco pulls away in Q4 to maul Converge

MANILA—Meralco blew by Converge in the fourth quarter for its second straight win in as many games in the PBA Philippine Cup through a 90-74 beating on Thursday night at the Ynares Center in Antipolo.

The Bolts outscored the FiberXers, 29-14, in the final canto to pull away for good.

Aaron Black matched his career-high with 25 points on 9-for-14 shooting including 4-of-5 on threes alongside two rebounds and five assists for Meralco, which tied Ginebra and San Miguel at the top of the standings.

Allein Maliksi added 22 points on 5-of-11 shooting from three-point range, four rebounds, and one steal.

Taylor Browne led Converge, which suffered back-to-back losses to fall to 1-3, with 14 points on 4-of-5 three-point shooting and two rebounds, while Jeo Ambohot added 10 points, 11 rebounds, and four blocks.
