MAKATI--San Miguel took solo leadership in the PBA Philippine Cup after clipping NLEX, 100-92, on Friday at the Ynares Center in Antipolo.

In the battle pitting Wednesday night winners, the Beermen contained the Road Warriors in the final three quarters after letting them explode in the first period.

After NLEX raced to a 33-25 lead in the first quarter, SMB slowly crippled them in the next 36 minutes, outscoring them, 75-59, to steal the win.

CJ Perez led the now 2-0 Beermen with 19 points, six rebounds, five assists, and three steals, while Marcio Lassiter added 18 points, three rebounds, two assists, two steals, and one block.

Don Trollano put up 21 markers, five boards, two dimes, and two swipes for the Road Warriors, who fell to 1-1.
