MANILA—Just two days after being involved in a moment of basketball infamy, Yong Garcia and Lord Casajeros are in good terms again.

Both Garcia and Casajeros quickly made amends on Wednesday following the spitting incident that took place between them on Monday night during the MPBL game between Valenzuela and San Juan at the latter's home court, the FilOil Flying V Centre.

Returning senator Jinggoy Estrada, the Knights' team owner, made the patching of things possible when he invited Garcia, his team's assistant coach, and Casajeros, one of the Classic's stars, for a meeting.

The mediation did not last long as both Garcia and Casajeros reaffirmed their mutual respect and shook hands in front of Estrada as posted by the Knights in their Facebook page late Wednesday night.

San Juan quickly took action and suspended Garcia for the full month of June without salary for spitting on Casajeros.

The MPBL also slapped Garcia with a three-game ban and a PHP60,000 fine.

Casajeros, on the other hand, reportedly entered the MPBL's COVID-19 protocols after the incident but has apparently been cleared, paving the way for the mediation to take place.
