TAGUIG--Magnolia completely denied Rain Or Shine's hopes of sneaking into the PBA Philippine Cup quarterfinals with a 118-87 blowout win on Wednesday night at the Smart Araneta Coliseum in Quezon City.

Behind a balanced scoring act that saw seven players finishing in double-digits, the Hotshots crippled the Elasto Painters from the get-go en route to the rout.

Jerrick Ahanmisi led Magnolia, which is now tied with Ginebra in third place at 7-3, with 19 points, three assists, and two steals off the bench.

Jio Jalalon added a triple-double of 16 points, 11 rebounds, and 12 assists with four steals.

Santi Santillan chipped in 17 points, eight rebounds, two assists, and one block, Andrei Caracut added 12 points, three rebounds, and 10 assists, and Anton Asistio also had 12 markers with one dime and one steal for ROS, which fell to 4-7 at the end of its campaign.

With the result, NLEX, Blackwater, and Converge secured the last seats in the quarterfinals.
