MANILA—The Azkals Development Team showed might on Saturday by edging Maharlika Manila, 4-0, in the curtain-raiser of a rare PFL triple-header at the Rizal Memorial Stadium.

The national football team's future prospects, the designated home squad, delivered a masterclass for its first win of the season against Maharlika Manila, which still could not find the full three points even if with the de jure home field edge three matches in.

Andres Aldeguer, the son of former UAAP men's basketball star Dino, opened the scoring with a 21st-minute goal.

The ADT eventually pulled away from Maharlika Manila in the second half, beginning with a 50th-minute goal from substitute Dominic Tom off a free kick.

Tom had a chance to make it a quick brace five minutes later, but his attempt hit the woodwork before bouncing back into the field.

However, playing coach Stephan Schrock got the recovery and slotted the ball past Vincent Valdez for the 3-0 count.

Schrock then quickly tapped his indirect free kick inside the box to Chester Pabualan for the 69th-minute exclamation point for the ADT.
