Batangas City back on winning track after downing Manila

BACOOR--Batangas City won again Saturday night after clipping Manila, 67-61, in an MPBL action at the Bacoor City STRIKE Gymnasium.

The Athletics gained control of the game in the second quarter, outscoring the Stars, 22-7, to take a 38-26 halftime lead.

Batangas City maintained order until the second half, although Manila had a late run to keep the final margin respectable.

Jeckster Apinan made 13 points, nine rebounds, one block, and three steals to lead the Athletics, who bounced back from their loss at the Pampanga Giant Lanterns last week and moved up to 11-1 for the season.

Levi Hernandez added 12 points, five rebounds, and one steal off the bench.

Dan Sara made 13 points, one rebound, three assists, and one steal for Manila, which fell to 6-7.
