MANILA—Kaya Iloilo quickly responded to an early shock goal from Mendiola with a sound beating en route to a 6-1 win in their Saturday night PFL showdown at the Rizal Memorial Stadium.

Despite Aaron Altiche's mid-first half scare, Kaya Iloilo regrouped and delivered a blowout of its own on Mendiola almost a week after getting mauled in its first match at home in Imus.

Kaya Iloilo quickly stepped on the gas in the first 20 minutes of the match as its superior wing play led to numerous shots and corner kicks.

However, it was Altiche who shocked Kaya Iloilo as he converted a 22nd minute goal off a brilliant penetration move from fellow Mendiola veteran Ash Flores.

Kaya Iloilo eventually had the last laugh in the first half as Jovin Bedic scored the equalizer in the 40th minute and Eric Giganto put the club for good with his own strike in the third of stoppage time.

Kaya Iloilo pulled away in the second half with Jarvey Gayoso striking first with a 56th minute attack.

Bedic completed his brace with a 75th minute goal, while Daizo Horikoshi put on some pressure on United Clark's Kenshiro Daniels early into the Golden Boot race with his third goal of the season in the 89th minute.

Jhan-Jhan Melliza finished the job for Kaya Iloilo with the exclamation point just before the referee blew the final whistle.

Kaya Iloilo remains perfect for the season with nine points after three matches, momentarily taking the solo top spot in the league table pending United Clark's battle against Cebu later Saturday.

Mendiola, on the other hand, crashed to the bottom of the standings with no points to show but a minus-12 goal difference.
