Kaya Iloilo blanks Stallion Laguna to keep perfect slate

MANILA--Kaya Iloilo remains without a scratch in its PFL campaign after pipping Stallion Laguna, 3-0, on Saturday night at the Rizal Memorial Stadium.

In the showdown between two of the top three clubs in the league table, Kaya Iloilo, which remains number one in the standings, showed its might over Stallion Laguna, which despite a better second half failed to beat Quincy Kammeraad to the goal.

Jarvey Gayoso followed up on his hat trick against Maharlika Manila last week with a close-range shot off a short Mar Diano cross in the 38th minute to open the scoring spree for Kaya Iloilo.

Jovin Bedic then made it 2-0 in the 41st minute after recovering the ball off an aerial battle.

Daizo Horikoshi sealed the outcome after converting a free kick just close to the penalty box in the 64th minute.

Kaya Iloilo is now on 15 points five matches in, while Stallion Laguna failed to overtake United Clark, which is having an extended break due to the flu outbreak last week and its scheduled bye week this weekend, for second place, although the Binan-based side remains third with six points.
