MANILA—Roosevelt Adams is now on his way to Japan after signing with the Kagawa Five Arrows of the B2 League, the second division of the B.League, for the upcoming season.

Kagawa made the signing official on Wednesday, although initial reports of the acquisition surfaced two weeks ago.

Adams became the sixth former PBA player who moved to either of Japan's top two flights, joining Matthew Wright, Kiefer Ravena, Greg Slaughter, Jay Washington and Ray-Ray Parks.

"I want to thank the Kagawa Five Arrows for this great opportunity! I also would like to thank my wife, family, friends, and the true fans for the love and support! I'm super excited to start this new chapter," Adams said in a Facebook post confirming the signing.

In a statement over the team's website, he added, "I'm very grateful for this opportunity and super excited to meet everyone. Looking forward to creating great relationships and memories this season!"

According to the club, the six-foot-five wingman will quickly join them after clearing medical checks upon arrival.

"The timing of joining the club is still being adjusted," the Five Arrows said in another statement.

They begin their quest for promotion to the B.League first division on Sept. 30 against the Ehime Golden Vikings on the road.

After the two-game set at Ehime, Kagawa will host Nagasaki the following weekend.

The Velca will also parade a Filipino as their Asian Player Quota in Jordan Heading.
