CARMONA—United Clark handed Kaya Iloilo its first loss of the PFL season with a 2-0 victory in their last match for the first round on Saturday night at the PFF National Training Centre.

After a string of missed chances in the first half, United Clark found its groove in the second half especially when Cholo Bugas came on as defensive lapses proved costly for Kaya Iloilo.

Bugas, who substituted for Curt Dizon, scored the go-ahead goal in the 57th minute, taking advantage of an overreaching error from Marco Casambre and quickly beat Quincy Kammeraad in the one-on-one with Casambre's help a bit too late.

Kaya Iloilo had a lot of chances to tie the game but could not convert, including one header off a corner kick that only hit the crossbar before sailing out of bounds.

In the 87th minute, the club's doom was sealed when Kammeraad miscalculated on saving a long ball, leading to a Pika Minegishi goal from the left flank.

Kaya Iloilo remains on top of the league table with 15 points, but the club failed to complete a 6-0-0 first round sweep.

United Clark, on the other hand, is now the only undefeated team left with four wins and one draw for 13 points, good for second place.
