Zamboanga solidifies hold of 2nd seed with rout of QC

STA. CRUZ, Laguna--Zamboanga strengthened its hold on the second spot in the MPBL Southern Division with a 96-71 blowout against Quezon City in an inter-conference action on Wednesday night at the Laguna Sports Complex here.

Zamboanga blasted off in the second half, dropping 36 points in the third quarter while holding QC to just 13 in the fourth.

The Marcelino Twins are again the prime suspects for Zamboanga, which moved up to 15-3 and is now a full game behind Batangas City for the top seed in the South with three games left, with Jaycee tallying 18 points and Jayvee adding 15.

Jeric Nacpil put up 24 markers, 12 boards, and one steal for QC, which fell to 8-10 but remains seventh in the North standings.
