TAGUIG—Kenjhons Serrano showed heart despite Map Soberano's early barrage to win their bare-knuckle boxing bout at URCC 80 on Thursday night at the Xylo at the Palace.

Already bloodied, Serrano turned things around in the last two rounds to beat Soberano in the exhibition match.

Soberano connected early on with huge blows that opened a cut just beside Serrano's nose in Round 1.

However, Serrano scored probably the deciding hit in Round 2 when he landed a left hook that knocked Soberano down even as the former delivered the crucial strikes in the final two minutes to take the unanimous decision win.

Meanwhile, Rocky Vergara also took a unanimous decision win against Marvin Dela Cruz, while Ronnel Eaparas and Elias Duran fought to a majority draw.

Only one bare-knuckle fight ended in a finish as Kimbert Alintozon hit a left hook to knock JV Baldonaza out at the 1:05 mark of Round 1.

On the other hand, Ruel Catalan proved that his family remains among the most renowned in mixed martial arts after submitting Edrion Macatangay in the co-main event, the featured attraction among the MMA fights.

Catalan delivered a rear naked choke that forced Macatangay to tap out at the 2:09 mark of the second round.

Catalan, who made a return after four years, improved to 5-8, winning his third straight bout, while Macatangay fell to 5-2.

In the other MMA actions, John Ornido knocked out Janedie Bernardo, while Jayson Margallo also submitted Wilson Managuio via RNC.
