MANILA--It was a performance that was not seen in the past 23 years.

Kyt Jimenez became only the second Filipino player to tally a quadruple-double in a professional basketball game, achieving the feat in a 125-74 Sarangani win against Mindoro in a Monday night MPBL game at the Paco Arena.

What made the former Perpetual Help player and Mavs Phenomenal Basketball mainstay's achievement more special was that he did it in a 40-minute game and he nearly doubled the score of Donbel Belano when he tallied the first-ever Philippine quadruple-double in Davao's win against Nueva Ecija in an MBA game in 1999.

Jimenez finished with 33 points, 13 rebounds, 11 assists, and 11 steals in the blowout victory, basically bettering what Belano did a long time ago.

Jimenez thought God was at work in his historic game.

Panalo and walang masayadong nasaktan. Trabaho lang, then si Lord na gumagawa ng magandang resulta," Jimenez told Dugout Philippines after the match.

Jimenez's historic performance came at a crucial time for the Marlins as they were vying for the third seed in the Southern Division Playoffs.

However, he insisted that he just wanted to perform well as they gear up for the postseason, which begins this weekend.

He then believes his quadruple-double is a testament that Sarangani's chemistry may have already reached its peak.

For sure, Jimenez's historic stat line has put some PBA teams and possibly some more Asian squads on notice, which could open a lot more opportunities for the 5-foot-11 combo guard.

But for him, he will let God take control of his future.
