MANILA—Nick Rakocevic showed that he is back 100 percent as he exploded anew in Magnolia's 111-97 win in the PBA Commissioner's Cup on Wednesday night at the Smart Araneta Coliseum in Quezon City.
Rakocevic had an injury scare last week after hurting his knee late into the Hotshots' win against the TNT Tropang Giga.
However, he was cleared to play this week after he was only diagnosed to have a knee bruise, and he quickly put up a statement game, dropping 36 points, 15 rebounds, two assists, and two steals in Magnolia's wire-to-wire win against NLEX that moved the team up to 4-0.
Jio Jalalon added 18 points, five rebounds, eight assists, and six steals to show that he too can put up a solid two-way performance in front of fellow former NCAA star Kyt Jimenez, who watched the game fresh from his quadruple-double performance in the MPBL on Monday night.
Kevin Alas put up 16 points, six rebounds, five assists, and one steal, while Earl Clark and Brandon Rosser each added 15 points with Clark also grabbing 10 rebounds for NLEX, which lost back-to-back games since Frankie Lim officially took over the head coaching chores.
