NLEX scores win vs. former star Calvin Oftana, edges TNT

PASIG—NLEX showed that it can still be a formidable squad even without Calvin Oftana, beating his new team TNT, 110-101, in their PBA Commissioner's Cup match-up on Wednesday night at the PhilSports Arena.

Earl Clark had a monster game of 45 points on 19-of-27 shooting, 16 rebounds, and four blocks with one assist and one steal for the Road Warriors, who also scored their first win under new head coach Frankie Lim.

Up by double-digits at the end of the first quarter, NLEX finished the game strong after TNT slowly crawled back in the next two quarters, outscoring them, 36-24, in the final 12 minutes to steal the game.

Kevin Alas added 24 points, one rebound, and three assists off the bench for the Road Warriors, who moved up to third place in the standings at 3-2.

Cam Oliver put up 26 points, 22 rebounds, five assists, and one block to lead the Tropang Giga, who fell to 2-2.

Oftana had 11 points, 10 rebounds, and one assist in his first game against his former team.
