PASAY--The University of Santo Tomas rolled past the University of the East via a 63-point rout, 107-44, in the UAAP Season 85 women's basketball tournament, Sunday at the SM Mall of Asia Arena.

Tacky Tacatac bounced back hard after a subpar game in their last match against Ateneo last Wednesday, going for 27 points, four rebounds, and three steals.

"We had a very slow start nung first quarter and I just told the girls na medyo tight sila noon. Our defense nung second quarter started na medyo nahirapan 'yung UE," said Growling Tigresses head coach Haydee Ong.

The Lady Warriors kept in step with UST in the first quarter, trailing by just three, 15-18.

But it was all Growling Tigresses after that, unfurling a 34-11 second period to establish a 26-point lead at the half, 52-26, before extending it to 41 at the end of the third, 74-33.

Eka Soriano flirted with a quadruple-double with 20 points, eight assists, eight steals, and seven rebounds for UST.

Brigette Santos had 12 points, nine assists, and six steals, while Rachel Ambos and Nikki Villasin got 12 and 11 points, respectively, with the former grabbing 11 rebounds.
