MANILA—Filipino carry player Abed Yusop has just become one of the hottest free agents in the DOTA 2 Pro Circuit as Evil Geniuses confirmed early Tuesday (Philippine Time) that it will let go of its The International 2022 team.

EG has decided to release Yusop, captain Tal Aizik, head coach Sam Sosale, Artour Babaev, Egor Grigorenko, and Andreas Nielsen following a ninth place finish in TI11.

"It's never easy to say goodbye, especially with a history as long as ours. Thank you Abed, Arteezy, Bulba, Crit, Fly, and Nightfall for everything you've accomplished, from all of us at Evil Geniuses," EG said in a tweet.

In a report by Telecom Asia's Marina Magomedova, EG's revamp has been in the works since last month following the dismal finish to its TI11 campaign despite having the best group stage record entering the playoffs.

The report added that EG is considering signing the three remaining members of Thunder Awaken roster for the upcoming DPC season.

Thunder Awaken disbanded its all-Peruvian lineup last week with skipper Farith Puente, Crhistian Savina, and Jose Padilla entering free agency.

The other two members of Thunder Awaken's TI11 squad, Gonzalo Herrera and Rafael Yonatan, have since joined fellow Peruvian outfit Beastcoast.

Interestingly enough, Thunder Awaken swept EG, 2-0, in the first round of the upper bracket playoffs, eventually sparking EG's shock downfall in TI11.

EG was knocked out in the second round of the lower bracket playoffs after then unheralded Beastcoast swept them, 2-0.
