PASIG—Phoenix sizzled early on and never gave Terrafirma an inch en route to a 135-84 blowout win in a pivotal PBA Commissioner's Cup battle on Saturday night at the PhilSports Arena.
Despite conceding the first two points of the game, the Fuel Masters quickly took over the match and finished the first half ahead by 37 points, 67-30, the fifth-largest halftime margin in league history, and never turned back from there.
They even led by 55 points, 131-76, with 4:01 left, which matched the largest winning margin ever in a PBA game, before settling for the 51-point victory.
RR Garcia put up 20 points, one rebound, and three assists for Phoenix, which boosted its chances of making the quarterfinals with a 6-6 record to end the elimination round.
Kaleb Wesson and Encho Serrano each scored 17 points with Wesson grabbing 12 rebounds for the double-double.
Joshua Munzon made 12 points, two rebounds, three assists, and two steals, while Eric Camson added 11 points, 12 rebounds, and two assists for Terrafirma, which ended its campaign in last place with a dismal 1-11 record.
