Ginebra clinches 'Clasico' semis vs. Magnolia, enters PBA Comm's Cup Finals

PASAY—Ginebra completed its "Manila Clasico" semifinals mastery against Magnolia with a 99-84 win in Game 4 of their PBA Commissioner's Cup playoff series on Wednesday at the SM Mall of Asia Arena.

The Gin Kings prevailed over the Hotshots in a similar fashion as to how they clinched Game 3: a blowout.

Despite losing Christian Standhardinger early on due to an ejection, Ginebra exerted its might over Magnolia with a 29-18 lead at the end of the first quarter, and the perennial crowd darling never looked back from there.

Justin Brownlee led the Gin Kings, who are now assured of playing on Christmas night as Game 1 of the finals will take on the said day, with 24 points, 14 rebounds, six assists, two steals, and five blocks.

Japeth Aguilar chipped in 19 points, eight rebounds, three assists, and two steals, while LA Tenorio added 18 points on 7-of-14 shooting including 4-of-8 on threes, five rebounds, five assists, and two steals.

Calvin Abueva put up 14 points, six rebounds, two assists, three steals, and one block, while Nick Rakocevic added 13 points, 13 rebounds, one assist, two blocks, and one steal for Magnolia.
