QUEZON CITY—The Philippine Sports Commission is still waiting for an official confirmation from Malacañang regarding a sudden change in leadership.

A PSC official told Dugout Philippines on Wednesday that the appointment of Dickie Bachmann as the new chairman is not yet cast in stone for now until they get the official word.

"Wala pa po kaming official word," the official said.

Dugout Philippines has learned that Bachmann, who served as the basketball commissioner for UAAP Season 85, is set to replace Noli Eala as PSC chief just four months into the latter's tenure.

A letter from the Palace announcing Bachmann's new role is said to have already reached the PSC office at the Rizal Memorial Sports Complex in Manila.

Bachmann, who played for La Salle in the UAAP during the late 80s and in Alaska in the PBA during the early 90s, also served as the Aces' representative to the PBA board of governors even as he remains the chairman for the PBA 3x3 despite Alaska selling its PBA franchise to Converge.

Once it becomes official, Bachmann will become the PSC's 12th chairman since its establishment in 1990.
