PASIG—And then there were four.

San Miguel completed the cast in the PBA Commissioner's Cup semifinals after eliminating Converge, 120-107, in Game 2 of their best-of-three quarterfinal series on Saturday night at the PhilSports Arena.

Just like in their series opener, the Beermen quickly shut down the FiberXers early on but needed to overcome the latter's last hurrah yet again.

SMB held Converge to only 15 points in the first quarter, and while Converge got its offense going in the next two quarters, SMB kept control of the game with a more solid scoring prowess.

The FiberXers came alive again in the fourth quarter, drawing to within eight, 101-109, with 3:22 remaining, but Simon Enciso doused cold water on their final dash with a dagger three-pointer with 2:50 left in the game, which eventually sparked the game-deciding 9-2 run to put the lead back to 15, 118-103.

Terrence Romeo sizzled for 22 points on 7-of-11 shooting including 5-for-6 from three-point range with one rebound, three assists, and two steals to lead SMB, which will face Bay Area in the semifinals beginning Wednesday back at the PhilSports Arena.

Devon Scott added 20 points, 14 rebounds, five assists, and one steal, while June Mar Fajardo contributed 18 points, 18 rebounds, seven assists, and two blocks.

Jeron Teng led Converge, which finished the mid-season conference with four straight losses after a seven-game winning streak, with 25 points, 10 rebounds, two assists, and two steals, while Quincy Miller added 24 points, seven rebounds, two assists, three blocks, and four steals.
