MANILA—The number one pick of last year's PBA Draft is now part of the Rookie of the Year race.

NLEX's Brandon Rosser entered the conversation for the season's top newcomer after an updated tally of the statistical points through the Commissioner's Cup.

In a corrected copy of the SP race given to media outlets on Friday, Rosser is number five in the ROY race with 12.8 season average SPs, displacing Phoenix's Encho Serrano (11.8) to number six.

In the initial SP tally on Thursday, Serrano was number five, but the stats team corrected the error and placed Rosser in the fifth spot.

The Top 4 in the Rookie of the Year remain intact: Blackwater's Ato Ular at number one, Converge's Justine Arana at number two, Phoenix's Tyler Tio at number three, and Rain Or Shine's Gian Mamuyac at number four.

The updated tally also clarified the tie between FiberXer Jeo Ambohot and NorthPort Batang Pier JM Calma.

Ambohot is slightly ahead of Calma in the ROY race after their SPs were rounded off to the nearest thousandths.

Ambohot has 9.564 SPs, placing him at number seven after the correction on Rosser's stats, while Calma is number eight with 9.556.

Terrafirma's Javi Gomez De Liaño fell to number nine following the error-fixing.

With the PBA Governors' Cup already underway and the votes from the media and players still up for grabs, the ROY race remains wide open.
