MANILA—James Yap is back!
The PBA superstar is set to show up again in the Governors' Cup after re-signing with Rain Or Shine.
The team announced on Friday that Yap signed a one-conference contract, which would make him eligible to play for the season-ending tournament which will start later this month.
The Elasto Painters initially offered a one-year deal to the 40-year-old shooting guard.
However, the concurrent San Juan City councilor declined due to his other work, and both camps eventually agreed on a short-term contract.
Yap said that he would do his best to balance his acts as a professional basketball player and a public servant.
Yap last saw action for ROS in 2021, playing only seven games and averaging 7.9 points, 2.0 rebounds, 0.1 assists, and 0.1 steals a night.
