Encho Serrano catches fire as Phoenix stuns Converge

BIÑAN—Encho Serrano exploded on Sunday night as he led Phoenix to a 106-103 stunner over Converge in their PBA Governors' Cup battle on Sunday night at the Smart Araneta Coliseum in Quezon City.

Serrano put up a season-high 28 points even as the Fuel Masters erupted for 40 points in the final frame to eclipse the quarterfinal-bound FiberXers.

Serrano also had two rebounds, two assists, and one steal off the bench as Phoenix moved up to 3-5 in the team standings.

Du'Vaughn Maxwell added 19 points, 15 rebounds, three assists, three steals, and five blocks.

Jamaal Franklin put up 30 points, 12 rebounds, seven assists, one steal, and two blocks, while Alec Stockton, Justin Arana, Jeron Teng, Jerrick Balanza, and Kevin Racal each added 11 markers with Arana also grabbing 10 boards for Converge, which fell to 6-3.
