Filipino stars suffer defeats in Japan B.League

MANILA—Dwight Ramos, brothers Kiefer, and Thirdy Ravena as well as other Filipino campaigners suffered separate defeats in the 2022-2023 Japan B.League Division 1 action on Saturday afternoon.

Ramos tallied just two points, two rebounds, two assists, and a steal as his squad Levanga Hokkaido suffered a lopsided 101-73 defeat to Utsonomiya Brex at the Brex Arena Utsonomiya.

Kiefer Ravena, meanwhile, finished with 15 points, including three three-pointers, in 26 minutes as Shiga Lakes bowed to Kawasaki Brave Thunders, 79-69, at the Todoroki Arena, Kawasaki City.

Thirdy Ravena, on the other hand, had 12 points, two rebounds and two assists as San-En NeoPhoenix faltered to the Ryukyu Golden Kings, 82-75, over at the Hamamatsu Arena.

Bobby Ray Parks Jr. had a solid 21 points, five rebounds, and two steals production but his team, the Nagoya Diamond Dolphins, was defeated by the Chiba Jets, 96-73, at the Funabashi Arena.

Matthew Wright struggled with just two points, on 2-of-12 shooting, to go with six rebounds and two assists as Kyoto Hannaryz was defeated by Osaka Evassa, 81-68, at the Kyoto City Gymnasium.
