MANILA—SJ Belangel and the Daegu KOGAS Pegasus hacked out a close 81-79 victory over the Jeonju KCC Egis in the 2022-2023 Korean Basketball League season on Sunday night at the Daegu Gymnasium.

Belangel, however, was hardly a factor in the Pegasus’ second straight victory as he finished scoreless on 0-of-3 shooting to go with three assists and two steals in almost 14 minutes of action.

Lee Dae-Sung top-scored for the Pegasus, who moved up to 15-28, with 19 points, Lee Dae-Hyeon added 15 markers, and Murphy Holloway posted a double-double of 13 points and 10 rebounds.

Filipino-Italian Calvin Epistola also failed to contribute to the Egis as he ended without a point to go with a rebound in just three minutes of action. They fell to 17-24 in the standings.

Rhenz Abando and league-leading Anyang KGC, meanwhile, suffered an 85-79 defeat at the hands of defending champions Seoul SK Knights at the Jamsil Student Gymnasium.

The former Colegio de San Juan de Letran Knights star tallied 19 points to go with two rebounds, two assists, and two steals, but Anyang fell short eventually and dropped to 33-12. The Knights improved to 27-17.
