MANILA--Lenard Santiago will soon be playing in the same university as his famous sisters Dindin Santiago-Manabat and Jaja Santiago.

Dugout Philippines learned from a source that Santiago is heading to the National University Bulldogs after a successful rookie year with Centro Escolar University Scorpions.

Once formalized, Santiago will sit out one year and will become eligible for UAAP Season 87 in 2024.

One of the reported factors to Lenard’s decision is his Scorpions head coach and Dindin’s husband Chico Manabat, who is reportedly joining the Bulldogs coaching staff.

“Several UAAP schools have tried to recruit Lenard but blood is thicker than water so he is joining coach Chico at NU,” a source said on condition of anonymity on Monday.

Lenard was a former standout of the Letran Squires in the NCAA juniors division before being recruited by Manabat to the Scorpions squad.

Lenard also blossomed at CEU and was named as Finals MVP in Scorpions’ perfect run in the UCBL recently.
