MANILA—Meralco got its winning groove back on Thursday night after mauling NLEX, 114-98, in their PBA Governors' Cup meeting at the PhilSports Arena in Pasig.

The Bolts held the Road Warriors to just 16 points in the first quarter, and despite the latter having a better second quarter, the former responded with a solid third-quarter burst to keep the blowout intact.

KJ McDaniels led Meralco, which moved up to 4-3 after checking a two-game skid, with 31 points, 21 rebounds, four assists, one steal, and two blocks in his first game against his former team.

Allein Maliksi added 19 points, six rebounds, and four assists off the bench.

Wayne Selden made 29 points, eight rebounds, and seven assists for NLEX, which fell to 5-3.
