Meralco bounces back with rout of Blackwater

ANTIPOLO—Meralco returned to its winning ways after a huge upset loss to Terrafirma by clobbering Blackwater, 125-99, in their PBA Governors' Cup game on Saturday night at the Ynares Center.

The Bolts sizzled quickly, scoring 67 points in the first half even as they entered halftime ahead by 17 points.

The Bossing mounted a comeback in the second half, cutting the lead down to seven, 94-87, early in the fourth, but the Bolts responded with a 10-0 run to pull away for good.

Allein Maliksi exploded for 30 points on 9-for-16 shooting including 6-of-10 on threes with three rebounds, one assist, and two steals for Meralco, which moved up to 3-1.

KJ McDaniels came close to a triple-double with 24 points, 15 rebounds, and eight assists with two steals and one block.

Shawn Glover put up 20 points, seven rebounds, three assists, and one steal in what would be his last game for Blackwater, now at 1-3, before Troy Williams, who was in attendance, will take over his spot.
