Phoenix scores 1st win under Jamike Jarin, keeps NorthPort winless

PASIG—Phoenix finally scored a win with coach Jamike Jarin leading the way as the team ripped NorthPort, 108-97, in their PBA Governors' Cup game on Thursday night at the PhilSports Arena.

The Fuel Masters pulled away in the second and the third quarter, outscoring the Batang Pier during those two periods, 63-47, before keeping them at bay in the fourth quarter.

Jason Perkins and Du'Vaughn Maxwell each scored 26 points with the latter also grabbing 11 rebounds for the double-double to lead Phoenix, which moved up to 1-3.

Marcus Weathers made 31 points, nine rebounds, and two steals, while Kent Salado had a career-high 15 points with three rebounds and one steal for NorthPort, which fell to 0-4.
