MANILA—An experienced high school coach is to take over the University of Santo Tomas Tiger Cubs next season.

As confirmed to Dugout Philippines by people knowledgeable of the situation on Tuesday, Manu Iñigo has been named as the new head coach of the Tiger Cubs replacing Jinino Manansala, who will remain with the Tiger Cubs as an assistant coach.

Iñigo steered the San Beda Red Cubs to the NCAA Season 95 juniors championship before he and his coaching staff, were suddenly removed from the team earlier this year.

Also joining Iñigo in the Tiger Cubs are his former assistant coaches with the Red Cubs, while Jarvis Co will become the new team manager of the UST high school team.

Aside from the Tiger Cubs, Iñigo is also the current head coach of the Iloilo United Royals-Cocolife in the Maharlika Pilipinas Basketball League.

The Tiger Cubs were fresh from a fourth place finish in the UAAP Season 85 juniors basketball under Manansala.
