PASIG—Anyang completed a shutout of Filipino teams in the EASL Champions Week after crippling San Miguel with a 142-87 blowout on Saturday at the Okinawa Arena.
Anyang quickly set up its demolition job at the get-go, eventually taking a 40-20 lead after the first quarter, and never looked back from there.
Omari Spellman gave Lebanese basketball fans something to look forward to as Lebanon's naturalized player prospect erupted for 53 points on 18-of-30 shooting including 12-of-22 on threes along with 13 rebounds, five assists, and two steals for Anyang, whose fate of making the Sunday final will depend on how Ryukyu will fare against Taipei Fubon later Saturday.
Rhenz Abando added 22 points on 9-of-15 shooting, five rebounds, two assists, and two steals, while Darryl Monroe chipped in 15 points on 7-of-8 field goals, 17 rebounds, 14 assists, and one steal.
Cameron Clark made 35 points on 14-for-21 field goals, 10 rebounds, and two assists, while CJ Perez added 26 points, seven rebounds, five assists, and two steals for SMB, which bowed out of the competition with a 0-2 record.
