MANILA—It's the girls' turn to play the grandest nationwide seven-a-side football event.

The AIA 7's Football League has launched the women's edition of the AIA Vitality Kampeon Cup, which will happen this weekend at the McKinley Hill Stadium in Taguig.

Six teams, representing some of the ongoing 7's Football League events right now, will dispute the Women's Kampeon Cup championship.

The teams, representing the leagues' all-stars, were divided into two groups during the online draw on Tuesday.

It will be Metro Manila versus Pampanga in Group A as the two 7's FLs in the metropolis, the Taguig and Muntinlupa chapters, were grouped with Pampanga.

The other group, Group B, consists of the lone Visayas representative Cebu and South Luzon all-star teams Batangas and Palawan.

The Taguig All-Stars are considered the team to beat as they have former national team mainstays Charisa Lemoran, Shelah Cadag, Irish Navaja, Dai Dolino, and Joyce Semacio, who witnessed the draw on behalf of coach Shane Cosgrove.

The top two teams in each group after the group stages will face off in the crossover semifinals with the winning squads battling it out in the final.

As announced by 7's Football League founder Anton Del Rosario, the matches will be aired live on national cable television through Tap DMV and via live stream at the Tap Go app.
