Ginebra banks on solid 2nd half to take 2-1 finals lead vs. TNT

MAKATI—Ginebra took a 2-1 lead in the PBA Governors' Cup Finals after clipping TNT, 117-103, in  Game 3 on Friday night at the Smart Araneta Coliseum in Quezon City.

The Gin Kings banked on a consistent offense in the second half, where they scored 30 points in each of the last two quarters, showing the Tropang Giga that they can also win in a high-scoring affair.

Justin Brownlee bounced back from his worst shooting performance in his PB A career as he led Ginebra with 29 points on 11-of-19 shooting, eight rebounds, five assists, one steal, and one block.

Jamie Malonzo added 27 points on 6-of-9 three-point shooting, 10 rebounds, and one block, while Stanley Pringle went a perfect 7-for-7 from the field including 6-of-6 on threes for his 22 points with three rebounds, and three assists.

Scottie Thompson and Christian Standhardinger each got 16-point double-doubles with Thompson dishing 10 assists and Standhardinger grabbing 10 rebounds.

Rondae Hollis-Jefferson led TNT with 32 points, 10 rebounds, six assists, and one steal, while Mikey Williams added 19 points, two rebounds, four assists, and one steal.
