SAN JUAN, MM--Blackwater has decided to bring in a new head coach ahead of the upcoming PBA season.
On Monday, the Bossing officially named Jeffrey Cariaso to be their new mentor, replacing Ariel Vanguardia.
With Cariaso on board, the Ever Bilena franchise is now looking to make a deep run next year after seasons of futility.
Good thing for him, Cariaso has his former players with him to start Blackwater's revamp.
Cariaso was Alaska's last head coach before the franchise was sold to Converge.
The FiberXers would inherit the entire Aces roster--including Cariaso and his coaching staff--lock, stock, and barrel, but after a quarterfinal exit in last year's Philippine Cup, Cariaso was let go and was replaced by Aldin Ayo ahead of the Commissioner's Cup.
Among the former Alaska and Converge players at Blackwater are RK Ilagan, Mike DiGregorio, JVee Casio, Rey Publico, Yousef Taha, and Gab Banal.
The Bossing also own the second overall pick of this year's PBA Draft slated to happen right after the FIBA World Cup, another important piece in their retooling.
