Blacklist stuns Bren to clinch spot in MPL upper bracket finals

MANILA--Blacklist International became the first team to send a top seed down to the lower bracket of the MPL Philippines playoffs after stunning Bren Esports, 3-1, in their upper bracket semifinals on Friday at the SMX Convention Center in Pasay.

Blacklist, seeded third in the playoffs, continued its Cinderella run after racing to a 2-0 lead against Bren, the top seed.

Bren took one game back after a tight Game 3, but Lee Gonzales' Moskov was just too much to handle as he led Blacklist to the Game 4 win that sealed the series.

Blacklist will play the winner of the showdown between Echo and RSG Slate Philippines in the upper bracket finals on Saturday.

Bren, on the other hand, will now have to play in the lower bracket with its season on the line.
