BIÑAN—Bren Esports, Sibol's Mobile Legends Bang Bang representative, took home the gold medal in the Southeast Asian Games MLBB event after sweeping Malaysia in the grand finals, 3-0, on Sunday night at the NABA Theater in Phnom Penh.

Bren avenged its group stage defeat to Malaysia, making up of an all-star lineup instead of bringing in an entire club, in style by shutting them out in the best-of-five series.

Malaysia actually had a shot at repeating that group stage upset as Bren got off to a shaky start in Game 1, but the Filipino side bounced back in the midgame and stole the series opener.

Bren would dominate the Malaysians in the next two games to seal the gold.

This is the third straight time the Sibol program racked up the gold for the SEA Games MLBB event, winning all the editions since its inception in 2019.

The championship, however, put midlaner Angelo Arcangel in the history books as he became the first player to win the gold multiple times as he was also part of Sibol's inaugural MLBB team in the 2019 edition in San Juan City.

Meanwhile, Falcon Esports of Myanmar swept the selection of host country Cambodia, 2-0, in the best-of-three series for third place.

Both Falcon and the alliance of Burn and Flash and CFU Gaming will take home the bronze medal, though.
