PASAY—The reigning world champions are now the national champs.
Echo dominated Blacklist International from start to finish to complete a 4-0 sweep of the grand finals on Sunday night at the SMX Convention Center here.
In the rematch of the Season 10 Finals, Echo set the tone early on by dominating Blacklist in Game 1.
Blacklist opted to go toe-to-toe with Echo early into Game 2 and it seemed to be paying off, but Echo secured the needed objectives to get ahead of Blacklist in the end to go 2-0 up.
After another dominant performance in Game 3 to take a commanding 3-0 lead, Echo found itself in early serious trouble of conceding one game to Blacklist.
However, behind crucial kills and objectives, Echo pulled the comeback to eventually close out Blacklist.
Aside from avenging its loss in the Season 10 finals, Echo pulled off a repeat of its 4-0 sweep against Blacklist in the M4 World Championship earlier this year as the former gets a needed boost ahead of its stint in the MSC.
For his brilliance during the series, Sanford Vinuya was named the Finals MVP.
