MANILA—Emilio Aguinaldo College and Adamson University frustrate their respective opponents to improve their placing in the middle of the standings of the ongoing 2023 Filoil EcoOil Preseason Cup at the Filoil EcoOil Centre in San Juan City, Sunday.

EAC got the better of Mapua University in a narrow 78-75 win and notched back-to-back wins. The Generals leaned on a balanced attack courtesy of Joshua Tolentino, Andrei Doria, and Erlan Umpad who had 11, 11, and 10 markers respectively.

"We want to see if we can compete with the elite teams in the NCAA. Eto, uunti-untiin lang namin," said first-year EAC head coach Jerson Cabiltes whose team now has a 2-2 slate in Group A.

On the other hand, the Soaring Falcons dominated the Scorpion in an 83-68 decision even still without star players Jerom Lastimosa and Joem Sabandal. Matty Erolon and Monti Montebon carried the load for Adamson by scoring 14 and 10 points in their place.

The Falcons were coming off a big win over UP the other day this win against the Scorpions evened out their record at 3-3.

"It's nice that CEU was able to put a lot of pressure on us kasi that's what we'll see from most teams in the UAAP. That'll really help us," said Adamson head coach Nash Racela in the post-game interview.
