ISAA 14 hoops: WCC, Treston complete semifinal cast

WCC Aeronautical and Technological College and Treston International College booked their tickets to the semifinals of the Inter-Scholastic Athletic Association (ISAA) Season 14 basketball competition after seeing off their respective rivals Sunday at the Trinity University of Asia (TUA) gym.  

The Skyhawks turned back the Philippine Women’s University, 71-67, to finish the elimination round with a 4-2 record and in third place. This set up a semifinal showdown with the second-seed ICCT Colleges Blue Dragons. 

The Patriots ended its ISAA campaign at 1-5.

Treston then secured a date with the undefeated top seed La Consolacion College Manila after fashioning out a 74-65 victory over the University of Asia and the Pacific (UA&P). The win enabled the Golden Lions to sneak into the next round with an even 3-3 card.

The Dragons will finish the round winless in six outings.

In the lone juniors encounter, LCCM fanned out the AirLink Baby Phoenix, 83-72.

Semifinal action will begin on Wednesday at the La Consolacion College gym in Manila, with LCCM and ICCT both enjoying the twice-to-beat advantage. A do-or-die game, if necessary, will be played on Friday.
