IMUS—Not even a team bolstered by former PBA superstars could contain Nueva Ecija.
The Rice Vanguards silenced much of the City of Imus Sports Complex here on Saturday night after beating the SV Squad, 84-63, in their anticipated MPBL battle.
What was expected to be a tight contest between the league's current "superteam" and arguably the strongest roster the Imus franchise has ever built quickly became a one-sided affair when Nueva Ecija raced to a 25-12 first quarter lead.
The SV Squad showed promise in the second quarter, but the Rice Vanguards were dominant in the second half
