QC surges in OT to edge Manila

MANILA—Quezon City atoned for its missed chance to close out Manila in regulation and dominated the overtime period for a 100-90 win in their MPBL battle on Thursday night at the Olivarez College Coliseum in Parañaque.

Joseph Brutas had a chance to win it for the Capitals in the 40th minute of play, but he badly missed the second of his free throws with 1.6 seconds left in the fourth period and five minutes had to be added on.

His teammates, however, ripped the Stars apart in overtime, opening the extension with a 12-1 run to pull away for good.

The Andres delivered for QC as Andrei Duremdes and Andre Flores each tallied 17 points off the bench to help lift their team up to 3-8 in the standings.

Tata Bautista's 32-point blast went for naught as Manila fell to 2-8.
