MANILA—Rey Remogat continued his torrid shooting and picked up right where he left off as he led the University of the East into a wire-to-wire 119-64 victory over FAITH Colleges in the 2023 Filoil EcoOil Preseason Cup at the Filoil EcoOil Centre in San Juan City Wednesday.

The 5'11" spitfire guard scored 20 points on 8-16 shooting from the field including 5/6 on twos and 3/10 from three. Remogat's performance preceded his impressive outing last Monday against Adamson University, putting up 21 points in 30 minutes of action.

UE Red Warriors coach Jack Santiago praised Remogat in the post-game interview, calling the Red Warriors 'Remogat's team'.

"Kayang-kaya nya mag-PBA, the way he's playing, his attitude towards the game. I always tell him, this is your team—you need to improve as an individual and as a director inside the court," Santiago said.

"I'm happy for him because right now he already accepted his role as a point guard and a good player for the team," Santiago continued.

On the other hand, Lyceum of the Philippines University eked out a tough win against a hot San Sebastian squad, 73-66.

Renz Villegas top-scored for the Pirates with 14 points off the bench with two 3-point shots while Simon Peñafiel matched his teammate's output with 14 points of his own.

LPU coach Gilbert Malabanan applauded the Golden Stags' effort despite their loss, who got a combined 36 points from key players James Una, Rafael Are, and Romel Calahat Jr.

"San Sebastian has a good system, especially when coach John Kallos came in. I told the boys we need to be ready, we have to prepare for this different San Sebastian team. I'm happy that our players stepped up this game," Malabanan said.
