PHNOM PENH - Blacklist International proves that they can play fire with fire as they closes the MLBB Southeast Asian Cup with a 2-1 win over Malaysian MPL champions Todak, Tuesday at the AEON Mall.
It was a new flavor of their signature UBE strategy for the Agents as a rather more aggressive Danerie James "Wise" del Rosario led the team with a 15-2 Game 1 beatdown against the Malaysians.
Wise, using his signature Fredrinn throughout the entire series, get the MVP nod with a 1/2/10 KDA, while Lee Howard "Owl" Gonzales was ubnblemish with eight kills and four assists with the Beatrix.
Blacklist continued their agression in Game 2, but it was the backdoor heroics from Muhammad "CikuGais" Fuad's Claude that stole the win for the Malaysians to tie the series with one game apiece.
The Agents were left undettered though as they vent their ire on Todak in Game 3, finishing the game in just 11 minutes with 17 kills compared to just two from Todak.
Jonmar "OhMyV33nus" Villaluna's surprise Minotaur pick take the MVP honors with a 2/0/11 showing.
Blacklist joins fellow Filipino contingent ECHO, Singapore champions RSG Slate SG, and Indonesian champs ONIC Esports as the top-seeded teams.
Todak will still see the playoffs, joining Turkish champs Fire Flux Impunity, Cambodian champs Burn x Flash, and MPL ID runners up EVOS Legends.
The playoffs, which now features a single-elimination format, will begin on Thursday.
