Philippine Women’s University continued its hot form with a fifth straight victory, while University of Asia and the Pacific scored a monumental upset in the women’s side in the continuation of the Inter-Scholastic Athletic Association (ISAA) Season 14 volleyball competitions at the UA&P gym, June 1.

The Patriots stamped its class anew, waylaying the hosts Dragons in another straight-sets affair, 25-11, 25-11, 25-7, to move a win away from a double-round elimination sweep while also giving the Dragons its second defeat in five outings.

The Lady Dragons, on the other hand, recovered from losing the first set to pull the rug from under ICCT Colleges, 20-25, 25-12, 25-21, 25-21, and bring the Lady Blue Dragon’s four-game winning streak to a screeching halt.

In the earlier matches, WCC ATC North Manila men’s and women’s teams added salt to the wounds of Manila Adventist College with twin victories.

The Skyhawks registered its second victory of the season, sweeping the MAC Soaring Angels, 25-18, 28-26, 25-17, in just an hour and 17 minutes.

On the distaff side, WCC needed four sets to repulse the Lady Angels, 25-16, 25-27, 25-17, 25-16, and keep in step with UA&P for second place with a 3-2 win-loss card.

Both MAC teams are still in the cellar at 0-5.

MAC will host the final elimination round schedule on Tuesday, June 5. In the men’s division, PWU will end its elimination campaign opposite MAC, while WCC tackles UA&P. While in the women’s division, WCC and UA&P meet in a virtual battle for the #2 slot, even as ICCT hopes to finish strong as it trades hits with MAC.
