MANILA—Kai Sotto's best shot for NBA glory is here.
The Orlando Magic announced on Thursday that the seven-foot-three beanpole will join them for the NBA Summer League at the Thomas and Mack Center in Las Vegas next month.
Sotto went undrafted last year, but he gets another chance to become the first homegrown Filipino to enter the world's premier professional basketball league through its Summer League catering young guns like the 21-year-old center.
There are two centers listed in Orlando's roster, the other being Harvard graduate Robert Baker.
Another familiar name in the Magic for the Summer League is Malcolm Hill, who played for Magnolia in the 2017 PBA Governors' Cup.
Anthony Black, the sixth overall pick of the recent draft, will headline the Magic.
They will play the Detroit Pistons on July 9, the Indiana Pacers on July 11, the New York Knicks on July 13, and the Portland Trail Blazers on July 14 (Philippine Time).
A fifth opponent will be announced at a later date.
