PHNOM PENH - Ishmael, on Herman Merville's novel "Moby Dick," loves to sail forbidden seas and land on barbarous coasts, as he opened his account on whaling.

Now, it's the whale's turn to chart the seas and go to the deep, but this time, in MSC.

MPL Philippines' and current world champions ECHO suffered one harpoon from Fire Flux Impunity's ship, but the orcas orchestrates a Game 3 masterclass to secure a quarterfinals slot in the 2023 Mobile Legends: Bang Bang Southeast Asia Cup inside the AEON Mall.

The Filipinos take Game 1 over the boys from Turkey, with Sanford "SanFord" Vinuya getting the MVP nod with his 3/2/8 showing from his Terizla, capped by a five-man Penalty Zone to complete the game.

However, the Turkish champs show that they are no pushovers as they gave the world champs a Game 2 shocker, capped by a lord steal from Sidar "Kyura" MenteÅŸe's Aamon and Furkan "APEX47" Akbulut's Minotaur's four-man Minoan Fury, the latter getting the MVP nod with a 0/2/11 KDA.

Game 3 is a different story, with ECHO showing an 18-0 MSC masterclass against Fire Flux Impunity while not losing a single turret in the entire game.

Benedict "Bennyqt" Gonzales took the MVP honors with an 8/0/6 outing from his Wanwan, including a mid-game maniac and a triple-kill to close the game.

Fire Flux will still have a chance to clinch a quarterfinals seat as they will take on Laos' Team EVO on Tuesday, while ECHO will have to wait for two more days to know their QF opponents.
