NLEX blasts off in 2nd half to pummel SMB

PASIG—NLEX bounced back from a lethargic second quarter with an explosive second half to edge San Miguel, 102-94, in their PBA on Tour battle on Wednesday night at the Ynares Sports Arena.

After letting the Beermen outscore them, 38-14, in the second period to go up, 58-39, at the half, the Road Warriors responded with a 34-19 third quarter to cut the lead down to four, 77-73.

NLEX then finished the job with a 29-17 fourth quarter to steal the win from SMB.

Dom Fajardo played his best game with the Road Warriors' main team as he tallied 20 points on 7-for-10 shooting, seven rebounds, two assists, and four steals.

Don Trollano added 19 points, five rebounds, four assists, and one steal off the bench.

Allyn Bulanadi fired 26 points with eight rebounds, three assists, and two steals, Rodney Brondial added 22 points, 24 rebounds, one assist, two blocks, and two steals, and Jericho Cruz put up 20 points, eight rebounds, and one assist for the Beermen.
