LAS PINAS–The 2023 Bola.TV AsiaBasket Las Piñas Championship opened its festivities for Day 3 at the Villar Coliseum here with the Letran Knights sending a strong statement to the Pilipinas Aguilas with a 111-76 win.

The Knights began the game on an 8-0 run and quickly went on a cruise after taking a 27-16 lead at the end of the first quarter.

The onslaught continued for the boys from Intramuros as they erupted for 33 points in the second quarter to open a 60-39 halftime lead.

They then held the Aguilas to just 14 points as the lead ballooned to 35, 88-53, at the end of the third quarter.

The Knights stretched their lead to as high as 42 points, 111-69, with 2:24 remaining before they let the Aguilas go on a 7-0 run to end the game.

Kobe Bryan Monje somehow lived up to his namesake as he went 5-for-8 from beyond the arc and finished with 29 points, one rebound, one assist, and two steals to lead the Knights, who moved up to 2-0 and tied the Far Eastern University Tamaraws on top of Group B.

Kyle Tolentino added 23 points on 9-for-13 shooting including 4-of-6 on threes, two rebounds, and four assists, while Neil Guarino and Kevin Santos each scored 11 markers with Santos also grabbing 14 rebounds for a double-double. Santos capped a splendid all-around game with three assists, three blocks, and two steals.

Edrian Ramirez put up 16 points, three rebounds, two assists, and four steals, while Biboy Enguio added 14 points on four triples, four rebounds, three assists, and one steal for the Aguilas, who fell to 0-2.
