LAS PINAS–Uratex returned to action in the 2023 Bola.TV AsiaBasket Las Pinas Championship with a dominating performance by its two world imports in an 88-81 win against Perpetual Help on Sunday at the Villar Coliseum.
After taking Saturday off following its 33-point loss to Ateneo on Friday night, Uratex vented its ire on Perpetual Help with Ola Adeogun and Mike Harry Nzeusseu putting up impressive performances.
Adeogun went 11-for-13 from the field off the bench and led Uratex with 27 points, 15 rebounds, two assists, and two steals.
Nzeusseu, on the other hand, finished with 17 points, 18 rebounds, one assist, and one steal in a starting role.
After a tight first quarter that ended in a 19-all deadlock, Uratex slowly began pulling away and eventually led by 11, 67-56, with less than a minute left in the third quarter.
Perpetual Help, however, ended the quarter on a 7-0 run to cut the lead down to just four, 67-63, entering the fourth.
Midway through the final frame, Uratex attempted to pull away again and increased its lead to 12, 79-67, with 4:13 remaining.
Perpetual Help made one final push and cut the lead down to just five, 86-81, with 38.6 seconds left.
But Adeogun hammered the nail in the coffin for Uratex with a dagger layup with 13.5 seconds remaining.
Arthur Roque led Perpetual Help, which is now in a three-way tie with Uratex and Corsa for second place in Group A at 1-1, with 16 points, three rebounds, and two steals.
